Cultural Heritage and preservation

Cultural Heritage & Preservation

Uganda’s cultural heritage represents the collective memory, knowledge, and identity of its people. It includes documentary records, indigenous knowledge systems, oral traditions, audiovisual materials, and digital resources created and preserved over time.

The Uganda Library and Information Association (ULIA) is committed to promoting the preservation, responsible management, and equitable access to cultural heritage. ULIA supports libraries, archives, and information professionals in safeguarding these resources for education, research, cultural continuity, and national development.

2. Types of Cultural Heritage
