Uganda Library and Information Association (ULIA) conducted a training needs assessment survey recently to gather inputs from general LIS professionals and ULIA members to streamline ULIA’s capacity-building interventions.

The event, which will be coordinated by the ULIA’s Committee on Education, Research and Training will unveil and discuss the details of the responses gathered from the survey. The findings that have been analyzed on relevant parameters will inform the steps to be taken in equipping members on key topical areas that are pertinent to the growth of LIS professionals and attempt to bridge the current and future knowledge gap in the field of information management, with respect to national and international best practices and standards for improved service delivery.

During the event, the Committee will also share the study scholarship opportunities available for further studies in the learning institutions in the US, France and Germany. This is essential for members who aspire to secure study opportunities outside Uganda with the possibility of full or partial sponsorships.
